To rename an item:

1.Open a folder where the file or folder you want to change name of is located.

2.Click on the file or folder you want to rename.

3.Choose Rename in the File menu. This command is also available in the context menu of a file or folder (click on the item with the right mouse button to make the context menu appear).

4.Type a new name, and then press ENTER.

Notes:

§File names cannot contain the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > |.

§The names of system folders such as Documents, Windows, or System32 cannot be changed. They are required for Windows to run properly.

§If you need to change names of many files, it is much faster to do this with the hot key F2. So, you do not need to open Edit or context menu every time you want to rename a file or folder. Just press F2 and type a new name.
